“We're Interested in You”

Categories: Bulletin Articles, Clay Gentry

Welcome to Jackson Heights’ Friends and Family Day! We are delighted to have you with us today. We pray that your time spent here will be a blessing for you and your loved ones. We hope you received a welcome brochure and this bulletin upon your arrival – please know you are our honored guest. Our aim is to be a group of Christians simply serving God through our Lord Jesus Christ. While we could talk all day about ourselves, there’s really one thing we want you to know: we’re interested in you.

We're interested in your spiritual growth. At our welcome center, you’ll find resources to help you on your faith journey. We have free Bibles in both large print and thin line, as well as Bible study guides on topics like the big picture of the Bible, the life of Jesus, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal.

We’re interested in your prayer needs. Do you have burdens, worries, or anything you’d like us to lift up to God in prayer? Please note them on your visitor’s card or speak with one of our elders or preacher. Your requests are treated with care and are an important part of our congregation’s support for one another.

We’re interested in your questions. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you probably have questions. We encourage you to ask them! Our elders, preacher, and/or members are here to listen and explore those questions with you. Feel free to write them on your visitor card or approach us after the assembly.

We’re interested in walking with you through life. We understand that life is a journey with many different seasons. Whether you are a young family just starting out, navigating the challenges of raising teenagers, experiencing an empty nest, or perhaps walking through the difficult path of widowhood, we want to offer you support and companionship.

We’re interested in your comfort. We want you to feel at ease while you’re with us. If you have any accessibility needs (we have hearing assistance devices available) or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to speak to one of our ushers.

We believe that as we gather together, we become a part of something bigger than ourselves. Thank you again for being our guest today. We hope you experience Christ’s love and our congregation’s warmth. If you’d like to learn more about us, ask the person who invited you, stop by our welcome center after the assembly, or visit our website at thebibleway.org.

P.S. One last thing! While we’re certainly interested in you, we’re not interested in your children remaining perfectly still – wiggles and giggles are part of the fun! And please feel no pressure regarding the offering; your presence is the real gift today. Oh, and we’re not interested in you feeling like you must know all the hymns or Bible passages. Just join in wherever you feel comfortable!
